Quality product but a few clearance gremlinsBy: Alistair on 8 May 2019One of the very few gauge lowering mounts for a 2001 Bonneville with the old style idiot lights. Definitely a quality product but fitting to a 2001 Bonneville caused a few issues if you have aftermarket clip-ons fitted and are still using the stock 7" headlight. I've already fitted Woodcraft clip-on bars and because this mount sits super-tight against the top triple tree the gauge mount wouldn't clear the clip-ons so wouldn't fit. Also, as this mount fits to underside of the triple tree it puts the gauges that much lower and with a 7" stock headlight there wasn't enough space for mudguard, suspension travel, headlight and gauge cups. This is with aftermarket headlight mounts pushed low down on the fork stanchions. Have jury-rigged a temporary spacer to mount off the standard gauge mounts on top and push the gauges forward to clear the clip-ons. I'd like to keep this gauge mount but will involve fabricating a spacer to place gauges exactly where I want. I love how tight and low this gauge mount is but it is designed to work with a smaller headlight.
