Jeff Marshall is one of those guys that you hear about… those guys that take things to the next level. Jeff produces work that makes you want to go that extra mile in your own work and we appreciate that.

Seemingly, for no other purpose other than to satisfy his own pursuit of perfection, Jeff has designed, rendered, rebuilt, re-jigged and brought to life some amazing artwork and some of the best, most detailed bike resto projects this side of Greenwich mean-time. He is also one of the last traditional hands-on sign-writers still upright.

Jeff now gives regular folk the opportunity to follow his pursuits via his new blog space http://marshallartz.blogspot.com.au/. Here you’ll see some of his award winning bikes, pin striping, graphics, artwork and other stuff. I also like the personal touches on his site that remind you this is all done by one man.

Another thing about Jeff is that he’s quite personable, so don’t be afraid to send him a message… he loves a good chat.

We’ve been burning the candle at both ends here lately, seems like when it rains it pours. We’ve been commissioned to bring to life a tired old CB250N for Nick and Ben at Apartment a local Brisbane based boutique clothing store. Here are a few pics of the bike as it stands. Most parts are undergoing a good clean as well as a rebuild. Looks like a couple weeks of greasy hands ahead.

Our latest recruit Nick Wolff did a great job cleaning and rebuilding the CB’s carbs.

Here are some handcrafted Kangaroo leather wallet we have been working on. They come in a varying range of colours, grain pattern and finishes. We hope to bring you many more colour options in the not too distant future.

If anyone is planning on rebuilding their clutch, please consider purchasing an Ellaspede clutch tool holder. Yes, you can use a screw driver but the extra surface area you get from a clutch tool means the risk of stripping is minimised. These are great for MX guys as well as anyone planning on restoring a bike. We are very close to bringing you some shots of our latest creation, a Suzuki GS500. We collaborated with Tristan Schultz of Relative Creative to help bring his thoughts into reality. Here are some build shots.

Reducing the clutter from the front end

We got rid of the old Speedo and Tacho and replaced it with a much leaner arrangement. Steve did a great job on modifying the original gauge mount setup. We managed to keep the existing light assembly but made up a neat little bracket that houses the lighting internals as well as acts as a mounting bracket for the new Speedo and Tacho.

Nothing looks better than having a nicely fitted seat. For the GS500 we shaped up the seat pan from sheet metal, then overlaid it with foam and got craving. The seat isn’t finished yet as a final ‘comfort’ layer is yet to go on before upholstering.

As the seat is being upholstered we got busy sanding back the tank as well as masking it off for a minimalist paint job.

We have recently been commissioned by a number of customers to build them an Ellaspede creation. One of the new steeds to join the stable is a 1984 Suzuki GR650. We have a lot planned for this bike and look forward to keeping you all updated during the build. First things first is cleaning up the bike  and getting it back into running order.
